A Disney World Royal Wedding 2011 viewing party took place on Friday, to watch William and Kate become husband and wife. Reportedly, there were hundreds gathering to watch the ceremony on large flatscreen televisions around the theme park.
According to Magical Mountain, the viewing party featured hundreds of anxious spectators in Disney World's Wedding pavilion. The pavilion is conveniently located near Cinderella's Castle, an appropriate place for a royal wedding and after-party celebration.
The UK was 5 hours ahead of the US, but still many people were in place at Disney ready for the ceremony to start. Some of those attending to watch the wedding in the early morning hours decided to wear theme-appropriate ball and wedding gowns. Others wore their pajamas or casual clothes for the viewing event. There were various food and beverages including tea and pastries for guests.
In addition to the party at Disney World for the Royal Wedding, there have also been comparisons made between the wedding and Disney films. In particular they compared a still shot of the Prince with Cinderella to a still shot of Prince William with his wife Kate Middleton. It's a striking resemblance, and great to see the magic of the Magic Kingdom involved in this magical marriage celebration!
