Christmas is Christmas, and it doesn't matter where you spend yours as long as you spend it with your loved ones. However, some places do add a special flavor to the Christmas spirit. The moods of such places infect you and the joys of Christmas are multiplied by just being in those places. One such place is Disney in Orlando, Florida.
This place is a hotbed of activity year round and around Christmas time, the activities reach the zenith. Home to the most desired family vacation spot in the world, "Disney World," it be mesmerizingly enchanting during Christmas. Disney World attracts tourists all through the year, and during Christmas time, the city and the parks are filled with Christmas tourists.
What makes Disney such a desired Christmas vacation spot? Among many reasons, two reasons stand out-the Florida weather and Disney World attractions. While the north of the country is under snow where people prefer to spend their Christmases behind closed doors tucked away from the biting cold, vacationers in Disney can spend their Christmas out in the open with not a worry about the climate.
Florida offers year round sunshine, and it's no different in Disney, so, people can just forget the chill and party in the open-all day and night. For people who are used to spending Christmas time in their homes, chances to celebrate Christmas in the middle of swaying palm treats will be a treat and a welcome change.
If the Florida weather attracts tourists year-round, Disney World makes sure that the tourists enjoy themselves every second of their stay in Disney. Disney World offers plenty of attractions around Christmas time for the tourists, and many tourists make a return trip to Disney during Christmas, even if they had already made a trip earlier that year.
The reason is that though Disney World is exciting to visit any time of the year, the park specially spruces itself around Christmas time and offers more fun and thrills to the visitors. The whole place is decked up with lights, and you can find decorations everywhere. Talking about lights, the Osborne lights-a collection of 5 million holiday lights in the back lot of the Disney Hollywood Studios-will light up your Christmas holidays here.
Then, there's the "Mickey Very Merry Christmas Party," which will perhaps make your kids absolutely go wild with joy. In fact, you'll be wondering who is enjoying the party more-the kids or grown-ups like you! Christmas parades, live character stage shows, free hot cocoa as well as access to the regular attractions of the park are all available to tourists who have purchased tickets to this Christmas event. Don't miss the "Holiday Around the World" presentation at the Epcot center during your Christmas vacation in Disney. A guest minor celebrity narrator leads a candlelight procession with a live orchestra in the background. The Epcot Center also has a laser light show called "Illuminations" display during festivities, and this show will simply blow your mind away. Apart from the above attractions during Christmas time, the park introduces special shows and events each year.
There are always minor hiccups in all great vacation plans. Accommodations in Disney during the Christmas holidays can turn a bit problematic for you if you're a late starter, but there are many very nice Disney vacation homes that are much cheaper and comfortable than hotels.
