Disney Parks has shared a behind the scenes video of their new Guardians of the Galaxy–themed roller coaster. The coaster will be part of Future World in the Epcot park at Walt Disney World. Once completed, it will be one of the world’s longest indoor coasters. The addition was announced at the D23 Expo held in Tokyo back in February, and it looks like construction for the coaster is finally underway.
The new Guardians themed coaster joins a number of other Marvel rides in Disney theme parks around the world. Hong Kong Disneyland was home to the first Marvel themed ride with the Iron Man Experience, a 3D ride where guests help Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) fight off an alien attack at the Stark Expo. The park is also getting a new Ant-Man and the Waspattraction. Disney’s California Adventure park itself boasts the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! ride; the elevator drop ride is an update to the classic Twilight Zone Tower of Terror that turned the old hotel into the Collector’s (Benicio del Toro) vault. After seeing success with these attractions, Disney Parks decided to go all out with California Adventure by establishing an entire Marvel themed land set to open in 2020, which will also include Spider-Man and Avengers-themed rides.
