Disney announces 2011 ‘Star Wars’ Weekends celebrity guests

On April 29, Disney announced the list of celebrity guest appearances for the 2011 “Star Wars” Weekend that take place at Walt Disney World Resort.

“Star Wars” Weekends (SWW) is the annual fan event held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. “Star Wars” Weekends is held on consecutive three-day weekends from May 20 through June 12, 2011. The weekends feature themed activities and parades, character appearances, and a general celebration of all things “Star Wars” in the George Lucas universe.

This year’s “Star Wars” Weekends is expected to be particularly busy, as it also marks the debut of Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. The re-imagined update to the Star Tours motion simulator ride will feature updated technology, including 3-D, and take guests on multiple destinations.

The information on the weekend’s celebrity guests had been much anticipated by “Star Wars” fans, especially it had been delayed compared to years past. In 2010, for instance, Disney released information on celebrity guests my mid-March.
